[Handwritten] EU [crossed out] F.{Mr Friese} DODD [crossed out] Noted AH { please note + return to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Dear Robotham, Wilmot-Breeden Door Locks. I presume you are referring to the gun type Breeden lock, with which we are experimenting. The principle seems to us good, and from the experiments we have carried out, there is no reason why it should not be made a success. Breedens, however, have not yet produced a lock in the correct form for dealing with all possible conditions the lock has to meet, more especially they have not yet solved the problem of the safety catch. They came over the other day and we had a long conference, and they have gone away to make another set which I think should be satisfactory. We are very keen on making a success of these locks and would like to co-operate with you when you have had time to try them, because we have some very definite ideas on the subject.
