Contd. -5- EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 5/T19.11.23.

The reduction ratio between starter motor and engine is 8.4. The starter motor when rolling the engine cold takes from the battery a current of 115 amperes at about 9.7 volts on the motor terminals, and turns the engine at 120 r.p.m., the motor itself operating at a torque of 50 lb-inches.

N.B. The exact speed of rolling the engine of course depends a great deal on temperature conditions.
