Re. Phantom III. Clutches.

In reply to Br/Bk.{A. Birkett - Commercial Manager}2/W.1.9.37, it is a fact that a large number of the Thermoid facings on the Ph.III. clutch have shown cracks running circumferentially between the rivet holes, and whilst these cracks have given us a certain amount of anxiety, the fact remains that we have not had one of these facing rings fail in service. So long as the cracks are circumferential and do not show any signs of running out in a radial direction, we recommend that you fit the plates in question.
