X 206 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}25/KW. 31st May, 1934. Messrs. Desmo Ltd., 31, Stafford Street, BIRMINGHAM, 4. Attention of Mr. Pease. Dear Sirs, Brake Adjustment Covers We are in receipt of your sample of the above, incorporating bellows, for which we thank you. This is a definite improvement on the last set you forwarded to us with the metal distance piece, full adjustment now being obtainable. We should like some better scheme for retaining the bellows in the end covers, as at present they work out of position. We suggest that probably the retaining grooves in the covers could be enlarged in width, so that a spring retaining ring could be fitted behind the last coil of the Bellows. Another suggestion is that once the covers and bellows are fitted to the adjusters, a solution is used to seal them together, making them as one. However, whilst we are finding some definite method, will you please forward us one complete set of rubbers and bellows, so that we may try them out on a chassis. Also, please supply a small quantity of suitable solution for sealing purposes. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
