To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to CJ. " " EH. " " EFC. ORIGINAL. (2) E5/G17/4/19. RE 20 H.P. CRANKCASE AND OIL SYSTEM. X.3536 We send you herewith drawing No. Lec.1078. This drawing illustrates the crankcase top and bottom halves, main bearings and bolts, oil pump, oil pump drive, oil sump, oil strainer, oil level indicator, oil blow-off valves, oil pipes to main bearings, self starter operating gear etc. etc. The scheme is necessarily somewhat incomplete, as it covers such a large ground. It is intended to give an idea of the general arrangement of the system and provides you with a certain amount of information to get the drawings of the large pieces in hand. We should be glad if you would return a blue print at the earliest possible moment, and we will then send subsidiary schemes completing the information concerning the various units enumerated above.
