| Oy7-E-22524 February 22, 1924. Mr. Claude Johnson, Rolls-Royce, Ltd., London, England. (Copy for attention of Mr.Royce " " " " Mr.E.Platford " " " " Mr.E.Hives) Dear Sir: Re: Proposal Sheet No.35 Steel washers below bolts in rear axle case. It was noticed that it did not seem possible to make those bolts in the flange of the rear axle case whose heads bed on the aluminum stay tight. Oil leakage always showed here after a few thousand miles and bolt heads always crushed into aluminum. Finally it was found that if bolts were tightened up properly they would be noticeably less tight in the morning, and heads would have sunk appreciably into the aluminum. This proposal is to covercome this trouble. Oy. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley MO/E | ||
