Front shock absorbers.
We have dismantled these and found that the serrations had become rusted up, preventing the action of the spring upon the leather cones. We have made these O.K.

Rear Axle.
We have had no trouble with this, but it has become noisy on pick-up and retard. Rear brake operating mechanism is in good condition. As previously reported, the leather covers for these are useless. They are immediately torn off by stones, etc.

Rear brake drums & Shoes.
As reported, these drums were badly scored. We had these trued up in Paris, and new shoes fitted. They are now in a fairly good condition. The two brake drum aluminium covers have become badly knocked up by stones, etc., which is allowing dirt to get inside the drums. We consider that these drum covers would be better if made of a different material to prevent this.

Petrol tank & fittings.
These are all in good condition. XXXX

Rear shock absorbers.
We have had no trouble with these shock absorbers, and they appear to be in a good condition, from outside examin-ation.

Side brake mechanism. (hand)
We have had no trouble with this throughout the tests. It is still in a good condition.

Electrical fittings.
These are, as previously reported, generally O.K. We have had a new rear lamp and connection fitted. These had been broken by stones. We have had no further trouble with the electrical cut-out, although the points are badly burnt. The accumulator is not so good for holding its charge as previously. We have had one or two occasions when apparently there was no charge left in the accumulator.

Rear road springs.
O.S. Spring was changed in Paris. N.S. spring is still O.K.

Spare wheel brackets.
These are still in good condition.

Front wings.
These wings have the well let into them to receive spare wheels. The welding has broken, and the wings are in a very poor condition.
