To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} To CJ. from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} - 4 - Bnl/W22320 Contd. any modification can be instructed to the Works for incorporation at a point which will not affect production. By that time we believe that further information will be available, which will be sufficient to justify a decision being taken. Additional information will, we hope, avoid some of the risk attached to incorporating modifications and will not materially delay the work. It is pointed out that one of the alternative modifications recommended by Mr. Royce and agreed to by Mr. Johnson, i.e. the increased clearance, has already been adopted from the date at which split pistons were incorporated.
