N-W (Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}) Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Please note Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1320 Noted Br/Wb{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}/CM.1.6.37. Daily Report on Overheating. # Tests at Cricklewood and Brooklands. ---------------------------- We have arrived at Cricklewood and have commenced tests on overheating in traffic etc., Have discussed the matter with Br and Messervy. They say that their complaints are almost entirely traffic complaints, and that in only two cases has there been any water loss. They will try to arrange to let me try a complaint case myself while down here. The air temperature here is not high at present - 20°C. If we do not get hotter weather, we shall proceed to Brooklands and carry on with tests there until warmer conditions arrive. Meanwhile we are arranging what tests we can and will let you have some results to-morrow. Unfortunately on 37-EX car the temperature difference between the rear of the cylinder head and the radiator is very small - maximum of about 1°C, so that on this car, at any rate, we shall not gain much by moving the thermometer bulb.
