-Dax c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 48380 BY/C4/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 13.5.25. 40/50 HP. CHASSIS SUBFRAME. ----------------------- With reference to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Evl/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 6.5.25. it has already been pointed out in accordance with BY/C6/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 14.2.25. that the modified design of side lever mechanism for use with subframe was not correct, as the latter fouled some part of the mechanism as indicated on blueprint G.73289 which we submitted with the above memo. We submitted blueprint L.F. 578 showing how the difficulty could be overcome by cutting away the subframe at the point where the foul takes place, and reinforcing same by a separate piece rivetted in position. This scheme was approved by you, consequently we have issued modified instructions to the Experimental Dept, but the subframe on chassis 9-FK. was supplied before this matter was settled up. The modified side lever mechanism and subframe have not yet been ordered for production, therefore if you propose to alter the brake quadrant bracket instead of cutting away the subframe, please let us know as soon as possible.
