WRAITH III

EXHAUST SYSTEM

CORRUJOINTS

The test carried out by Mx {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} on 27.3.VI, using an annealed corrujoint which had the grooves packed with graphite paste, has proved satisfactory. The graphite has prevented the joint washer from collapsing and thus maintained a seal, and the bolts remained tight.

Will you therefore anneal the stock of corrujoint washers at a temperature of 850°C to 875°C and then cool in air.

During erection the joints should be well coated with graphite compound DIXOLINE. A 10 lb. tin of DIXOLINE has been ordered by 'phone from T.Crump & Co. Derby. This will be passed over to the Works when it arrives.

Will Roy {Mr H. Royce - Buyer} please issue the official order to cover the above.
