TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} RE. GOSHAWK & SEAGULL CLUTCH (SINGLE PLATE.) I am not sure whether I understood you rightly to say that you had tested Raybestos, and that we could rely upon a co-efficiency of .3 with this material, even if greasy and hot, and at all speeds of rubbing. Yet if this is really the case what do the Ferodo people say? Cannot they do likewise, or what is the disadvantage of the Raybestos? On arranging Seagull chassis we find it advisable to shorten the large single plate clutch which may make considerable alterations in the pattern and tools. Do not therefore proceed with expensive tools for a clutch exactly like the drawing sent to you. R.{Sir Henry Royce} RECEIVED JAN 12 1923 | ||
