1044 To By/N. c. to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.5/JH.5.9.38. Bentley 60. Belt Pulleys. The belt pulleys, fan, water pump, dynamo and c/shaft instructed for the above engine all have a common angle of Vee (28°) and top widths of Vee varying from .650 to .675. At the time that these were drawn it was impossible to indicate the correct pulley Vee dimensions as the suitable Ferogrip belts were not available. We have now however been able to obtain these and have carefully checked them up at the appropriate radii. Attached sheet indicates the correct pulley Vee dimensions - will By/N. please have the details altered and will HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} please arrange that pulleys of the correct angles are made - the first set can be excepted in order to avoid holding up the first B.60 engine. The angle of Vee rather than the top width is the important dimension and if any pulleys other than the first set are already made the Vee angles should be modified to attached sheet.
