X9740 To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} c. BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /RD. c. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /AIL. EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T8.10.27. On chassis 11-G3 and 14-EX we require a comparatively simple experimental electrical connection alteration to the distribution box. The end of the shunt winding which is at present connected to dynamo terminal B of the distribution box is to be transferred to the field dynamo terminal C of the distribution box. Will you please instruct for this alteration to be made at the first convenient opportunity. It means that the wire going to the shunt coil from terminal C will have conveniently to pass and of course be insulated from terminal B. The object of this experiment is to get rid of the possibility which is known to exist of the dynamo being capable of roasting the shunt coil of the cutout when fuse No.1 is removed or melted for any reason.
