1209 To EJJ. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} c. Millwrights. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}4/MH.{M. Huckerby}16.12.38. B.80 UNIT (NO.30 TEST BED). Owing to a modification to the clutch case pattern it will be several weeks before a case is available, therefore the unit will have to be mounted from the rear crankcase face and the drive taken direct from the flywheel. This temporary rear suspension and drive will be similar to the B.60 engine in No.5, as the crankcase face and flywheel are identical on B.80 and B.60. The only difference that may be required is the height of the rear end and the length of drive to the dynamometer. We should appreciate your urging of this job as until available the engine cannot be run. The engine is ready and the bed is free for the millwrights to make a start on Monday, 19th. December.
