COPY. EMPIRE WORKS, BLACKHORSE LANE, WALTHAMSTOW, LONDON. E.17. 19th August 1925. Ref. SM/EBB. Messrs Rolls-Royce Ld. Derby. ----------------------- Dear Sirs, VARNISHED FABRIC BOARD. ------------------------ We have recently supplied you with small quantities of our Varnished Fabric Board .031" thick, which we believe you employ as washers, packing pieces, etc. We have lately developed a similar material, manufactured, however, with a much finer linen base, which is specially adaptable for the production of small gear wheels, pinions, etc. We are posting you under separate cover some small samples of this new material, as we believe same may be of interest to you, and should you require larger pieces of any specific thicknesses for test purposes we shall be glad to supply same free of charge To avoid confusion we shall in future refer to the material suitable for pinions, etc., as :- No. 1. Grade Varnished Fabric Board. The other material, such as we have hitherto supplied to you, and which is manufactured with a coarser fabric base than the other, will be in future known as :- No. 2. Grade Varnished Fabric Board. You will notice that our No.1 Grade Material is much darker in colour, and therefore easily distinguishable from our No. 2 Grade. Continued. | ||
