Dear "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}",

Many thanks for your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}I7/KM.28.7.36 from which I am very pleased to see that the "citroen car" was satisfactory. [Handwritten note: PARTS]

A couple more parts (engine and body) would have completed this. However, I trust that you will now be able to get on with the job and carry out your experiments.

As regards the T.T. it is very improbable that I shall be able to get over this year as our Phantom III demonstration car will be arriving [handwritten: about] this time and I have to go down to the South of France with it to give demonstration runs to some prospective customers down there from whom I am hoping to get orders. I do not know exactly whether this will lead to business, but things are so upset over here at the present time that one cannot afford to miss any chances of orders that may be on the carpet.

I should have loved to come over and unless something unforeseen happens you will have to "vous passer de moi cette année". I quite realise how difficult this will be but I shall give instructions that the race is not to be held up on this account!!

I was very pleased to know that you found the report on R.R. alloy bearings well got out.

Hoping to see you soon and with kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
