Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/R.4.5.38.

Will you please instruct John Thompson's that we want the first new type B.III frame delivered to have a thin front gusset. This frame will be built up into the second B.III car which it is proposed to send 15,000 miles on a preliminary run.

The second frame delivered from John Thompson's should also have a thin gusset and should be built up into a bump chassis.

The third frame will have a thick front gusset and should be built up into the third B.III car.

It is anticipated that the next B.III body will be ready in four weeks' time, and, therefore, everything possible should be done to expedite delivery of the frame.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Jm{Mr Morley} [initials]
