Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre. France. 78940 GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}I/Crn. 17.4.25. TO: "Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}" From: G.W.Hancock. 93 NK. We are sending by Butler steering column, fabric coupling, No. 2 connecting rod, of which the bearing has run, also we are sending NO. 1 connecting rod, the-bearing of which is cracked in several places. Also, you will notice a small piece of white metal is ready to come out. We thought it advisable to send this rod along with the other. All other connecting rod bearings are sound. We should like Butler to bring out the follow-ing parts with him :- 12 Sparking plugs, Various springs for oil relief valve. Pipe & guage to get oil pressure on rocker shaft. Bolts for exhaust joints (K.317). 2 Leather washers for oil relay. Locking washers for steering column. Leather covers for rear brake mechanism. 6 Spare balls for steering column thrust. (We have not lost any, but we should be in difficulties if any dropped on the floor. & we were unable to find them.) Piston rings. Enots grease gun (must be extra pressure). (This could be sent out on the next car, as an extra to the kit.) We would like to draw your attention to these guns. The screwed nut very quickly wears out, making the gun use-less. We do not consider the life of these guns sufficient. Perhaps Derby would take this matter up with the makers. Please note that we have not heard anything yet of front springs, that I asked Coverley to send out. Will you please inform us whether these have been sent. We have not yet received the engine oil, and are continuing to purchase Mobiloil. G.W.HANCOCK. | ||
