PRELIMINARY NOTES OF INTEREST ON FULLER SPARTA BATTERY ORV12/CS.

Material of cell boxes. Not known.

Case for battery. Complies with specification except in one respect, viz. that there are no central stay spokes fitted.

Weight of battery. 80 lbs.

Overall dimensions. The overall dimensions of the battery are:-

Length 19.312"
Width 6.250"
Height 10.125"

This will fit our battery box.

Individual cells. Complies O.K. with specn.

Disposition of cells. Complies O.K. with specn.

Terminals & connections. The cell to cell connections are of the solid lead burnt up type and not lead covered brass nuts which is asked for in our specn. The terminals are of the taper pillar post type.

Sealing compound. Complies O.K. with Specn.

Separators. Wood and ebonite as required by Specn.

Space at bottom & above plates. Space at bottom of plates not known. Space above plates is amply allowed for.

Overflow of electrolyte. The filler holes and vents are of the same type as those on OR12/1C2 battery which have proved to be quite satisfactory.

Vibration & Neglect. Complies O.K. with Specn.
