X.3500 - RE "DELAGE".

In amplification of our telegram of to-day's date concerning the "Delage", would you please note that Mr Royce says he does not want the "Delage"here if it has a large heavy four-seater body, making the car feel like lead in its movements without any go in it.

He also makes the following suggestions in connection with testing this car:-

(1) Can you fit the "Delage" with a body that will make it weigh about 22 cwts with passengers, and provide two or three decent seats and a glass screen? A hood is not necessayr.

(2) Do you want to try it with an R.R. carburetter 4 X 5 four-cylinder, or some other carburetter double or single?

(3) Would you like to connect the inductions pipes with the bridge piece across the gap? We assume you cannot alter the induction pipes themselves. These strike us as being too small.

(4) Take curves of valve lift with micrometer.

(5) Fit magneto adavcne.

(6) Is steering good?.

(7) We assume the car has now been equipped with decent tyres. Are detachable Wheels or rims fitted?

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
