Please receive herewith E.CD.245 Valve Spring Details - Bentley 111. These valve springs are as calculated by Mr. Bower for use on the Bentley 111 engine, using cam form to E.CD.167 and Wraith 111 rocker arms, giving a valve lift of .407" in conjunction with valve guide without grummet to E.CD.56. The valve springs being parallel call for new top and bottom spigot washers. Will Mr. Bower, please note that if possible, any further valve springs for either Bentley 111 or Wraith should be made to suit the washers shown on E.CD.245 viz. the inside diameter of the springs should be kept constant, so that it will be simple to change from one set of springs to another without having to change the washers. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} instructs that three sets of each of the springs shown on this drawing should be made and tried experimentally. Will E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Department please issue the necessary details. 454 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} SWDC | ||
