Rudge-Whitworth must of necessity be more difficult to tighten sufficiently to avoid movement, whatever they swear. I should prefer the greater simplicity, but not at the loss of efficiency - if both simplicity and £10,000 it is a very tempting to risk some delay and order from hand to mouth.
