LUGGAGE ACCOMMODATION:

With reference to our talk yesterday, we attach a print No. 13051 of Park Ward's drawing showing a Touring Limousine and with the luggage locker dimensioned.

This is a standardised design intended to replace the smaller Barker body, a sketch of the luggage locker of which JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} handed to you yesterday.

With the Park Ward body we lose some luggage space because of the dust door, and because in order to permit of the main door being used as a platform for extra luggage, the opening does not extend above the "top corner" of the locker.

We consider the combination of locker and auxiliary platform to provide ample luggage space in this instance but if, for any reason we were prepared to surrender the ability to carry extra luggage on the locker lid{A. J. Lidsey}, then we could gain room in the locker itself.

Incidentally you will observe the shape of this back is something like that you have in mind for the Phoenix body, although there is a break between the body proper and the luggage locker which we feel lightens the appearance of the car.

Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} is familiar with this treatment and when he comes to London again we shall hope to be able to show him a body like that in Park Ward's print.

P.S:- In case you may be interested to compare the room in the Park Ward design with that of the Barker body to which we refer above, we enclose print No.E.11468 of the latter.
