Venturi crankcase breather.

The venturi breather tests show that the depression in pipe leading from the crankcase to be as follows under calm conditions -

30 m.p.h. - 0.3 inches of water.
70 " - 1.0 " " "

These figures are the mean of runs in each direction. At high speeds with head wind the depression at times is as high as 1.5 to 1.6 inches but there does not appear to be any loss of oil through the breather.

Cylinder Wear.

The cylinder wear at end of 6000 miles is particularly good, the average wear being .000466 inches or .000078/1000 miles. The average wear of Bentley with Aerolite pistons at this mileage in customer's hands is .00041/1000 miles, the wear of B.23.AN. is therefore slightly more than one sixth of the average. The cylinder wear of this unit is to be checked approximately every 5000 miles.
