The Manager,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,

Dear Sir,

We have pleasure in sending you herewith a booklet regarding the De Lavaud Free Wheel Differential together with a copy of the Royal Automobile Club's Certificate relative to the demonstration of this device which was held at Brooklands on the 18th April last.

We feel confident that after perusal of the booklet and certificate you will at once realise and appreciate the tremendous practical advantages of the device to which they refer, not only in respect of non-skidding but also of free-wheeling at will. It is, in fact, the only form of free wheel which is thoroughly satisfactory.

It is intended at a later date to hold other trials which will still further prove in a practical manner the benefits which the De Lavaud Free Wheel Differential confers, in particular, absence of wheel spin when rough surfaces are negotiated and the self-correcting tendency which occurs under conditions which would with the normal Differential, promote a skid.

In the meantime, we would add that many important firms both in Britain and on the Continent are carrying out serious experimental work with our Differential and there is considerable reason to believe that in the near future it will be a standard component of many outstanding cars.

Yours faithfully,

Managing Director.
