URGENT.

re: 19-EX.

About the beginning of November last 19-EX came to London for certain of us to try in connection with certain features that had been added to the engine and chassis generally.

One feature in particular I am writing about now, and that is the latest development of air silencer to the carburetter. This was of rather massive construction but very much more effective in silencing the engine, and is what is presumably referred to in HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/MJ23.11.32 Page 1.

Would you please tell me if this type of air silencer was fitted to 19-EX when we tried it about the beginning of November in London, and also whether it was fitted to the car when it went to France some months ago for the Paris Depot to use as a Demonstration Car.

As you probably will remember one of these latest form of air silencers was fitted to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car No. 58-GN, and is in fact still fitted to it. Can you tell me whether this latter one was fitted to 58-GN before a similar one was fitted to 19-EX ? No doubt your records will show you exactly when this big air silencer was fitted to 19-EX and also the dates on which thecar came to London for us to try.

I would be very glad indeed to have this information as soon as you can conveniently pass it on. The matter is urgent because it involves the question of not only standardising this on production chassis but probably fitting it retrospectively to a certain number of O2 series already delivered but without it in its latest form.
