Messrs. Lodge Plugs Ltd.,
Rugby.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of the 20th July, Ref. W3/IW., referring to the HD{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}3 plugs.

We are pleased to say that a set of these plugs has now completed 7,000 miles in France, and have given no trouble with preignition.

After 3,500 miles misfiring occurred at low speeds which disappeared when the plugs were set at .020".

At 5,000 miles misfiring again occurred, and was found to be due to oxidization of the points, but was cured by cleaning the plugs.

On the whole we consider this report to be quite satisfactory as we know the ignition is very sensitive to misfires especially on magneto.

We will report further in due course.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED.
