X1413 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EFC1/T8.3.23. X.1413. RE AUXILIARY IGNITION SWITCH FOR 7-GII. X.3485. We are handing you herewith an old Bijur lighting switch to be adapted as an auxiliary ignition switch for 7-G.II there being now three positions of this combination switch:- Pos. (1) All switches off (in). Pos. (2) Two switches on (out) and one switch off (in). Pos. (3) All switches on (out). This switch is to be fixed to 7-G.II and included in the wiring in accordance with the diagram attached. This will not interfere with the function of the main ignition switch of being able to switch off and lock off both ignitions, but will provide in addition to the 'both ignitions on' position, positions for battery ignition only, and magneto ignition only, with a quick change from one to the other. Further, it will not be possible with this switch to have both ignitions off at the same time, whilst the main ignition switch is on. It will be seen on the diagram that position (1), all in, will give magneto ignition. Position (2) is given by pulling out the coupled pair and gives magneto and battery ignition simultaneously. Pulling out the third switch then cuts out the magneto ignition leaving only the battery ignition. By suitable handling, all the three switches can be pulled in and out together, giving the required change from magneto to battery. EFC. | ||
