Messrs. Borg & Beck Ltd. -2- 25th. February 1938. "dummy" springs, and then measuring from the face of the cover to the face of the pressure plate. The real merit of the rig is that it quickly shows the actual thrust on the pressure plate including any variation in thrust spring set-up and anti-rattle spring strength. We suggest that if you had a similar sort of rig at Leamington, we could both refer to terms of actual thrust poundage, rather than a somewhat assumed poundage depending upon several variables, and we are sure you will appreciate that this is the sole object of our suggestion. Any time you visit Derby, we would be happy to show you the rig in operation. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
