Wraith II Battery and Box.

We have already sent you N.Sch.4941 showing the arrangement of the battery and box for Wraith II. In this scheme we chose the 6.10.11S type listed as having a capacity of 57 amp. hours at the 20 hour rate, which we thought would be comparable with our present 25/30 H.P. battery.

We now learn that this battery when equipped with double separators would have a capacity of only 45 amp.hours, and it is thought that this would be inadequate.

As a result of an appeal to them, Messrs.Peto & Radford have produced for us a battery which they say will have a capacity of 52 amp. hours at the 20 hour rate, and this battery will be known as 6LMLU.13S. It is some 2½" longer than the one originally chosen and necessitated lengthening the battery box.

We send herewith LoC.5523 showing the modified and lengthened battery box. The lengthening has had to take place forwards as it is impossible to move the battery rearwards on account of the heelboard of the enclosed limousine.

We have ascertained that this battery will come out of the cars already instructed, 24.C.6, 25.C.6 and 26.C.6.

We enclose herewith Messrs.Peto & Radfords drawing No.AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson}2623 which shows the size of the container. The battery will be provided with a lid{A. J. Lidsey}, whilst the drawing is called 6-LCL.13-S, this is for the standard separator, and will be called 6LMLU.13-S with the double separator.
