Proposed new design for the Phantom III Dynamo brush holder, detailing changes and required parts.

Please receive herewith blue prints of details made from the above scheme, which is a new design of brush holder. The main points of this revision are :- (1) The material of the brush holder is bronze. (2) Brush holders are alike and all trail. (3) The use of the clock spring has been abandoned and a tension spring substituted. (4) The moving arm propelling the spring downwards has been provided with a weighted end in order to obtain the light spring heavy arm conditions recommended by Morganite. Also, in order that this brush gear may be tested with a new armature which is under consideration, a revised end bracket has been produced, and it should be noted that a standard Phantom III dynamo can have this scheme fitted to it with the existing armature and it will then be possible to change the armature as required.
