- 2 - We are attempting to fit the Lucas shock absorbers, and I shall be glad if you would tell me what arrangement has been agreed upon. It is a further question of guarding the windscreen, etc. on the chassis, and we see no difficulty if they are fitted as we saw them on the models at Olympia. The dynamo rattle, he dismisses, unless of course he means the starting dynamo, has been G.N.ivetted, & I have no doubt that he will be pleased with the result. Mr. P. has now agreed, I am glad to say, that you have had enough trouble with it already, and he will undertake to cover all over the chassis with a suitable covering. He has also undertaken to fit the side lamps. The question of price is difficult as the 11ft 4in chassis has been sold at a cut price, but I see no reason why the car should not be a great advertisement for us, & bring in further orders, and I hope we may be allowed to charge the cost of these extra items up to Advertising a/c. I am convinced that this chassis, with a body on, will be a most wonderful car and will be found to be much quieter and better on the road than any other chassis that has ever been turned out by this or any other works. There is no doubt that the 40/50 has a better market than the little car. The Rolls-Royce is of course beyond the reach of the bigger market for the 40/50 cars by other makers, more especially ours. but I do not know of a 21.6 h.p car in as good a position as E.P. .92 P.T.O. | ||
