Phantom III Exhaust System Costs.

We have now received from our Cost Department an estimation of the saving to be achieved by using aluminised mild steel in the place of S/HNC for certain Phantom III exhaust parts.

The points covered are as follows:-

(1) Front downtake pipes in aluminised mild steel - 14 SWG instead of S/HNC 14 SWG.

(2) Front expansion box in aluminised mild steel - 16 SWG instead of S/HNC 14 SWG.

(3) Intermediate pipe in aluminised mild steel - 16 SWG instead of S/HNC 14 SWG.

The estimated saving due to the above is approximately £5. 0. 0 per chassis.

We have not yet received an estimate for the new type of rear silencer and tail pipe. This will follow on at a later date.
