Comparative tests between the Kinsman
and Abingdon (King Dick) tyre pumps.

We have compared these two pumps, and although the present standard Kinsman pump costs 2/6d more, it is far superior to the Abingdon pump. The following points are worth noting with regard to each pump:-

Kinsman. Finish, chromium plated, fitted with non-return ball valve, attachment for testing the pressure by gauge without removing the pipe connection, easily packed into the kit, with the outlet connection being vertical with the pump barrel.

Abingdon. Nickel finish, pipe connection comes out at right-angles to the pump, this would mean disconnecting the connection when carried in the kit. Owing to there being no non-return valve on the Abingdon pump the effort is much more fatiguing. A tyre is pumped up to 45 lbs in two-thirds of the time with a Kinsman pump, and with very much less effort.

We shall not, therefore, recommend a change to this pump.
