There are many snares and delusions in single cylinder work, maybe we can help you with these also. How big these delusions can be we do not yet know, because we shall not have running our full scale engine, which has been designed entirely round the single cylinder work, for about another 12 weeks. However, as a result of three years' painful experience, we have developed a technique for evaluating single cylinder results.

We have had some quite interesting petrol consumption results on the road, obtained when trying to emulate Taub's economies, and also got some interesting figures on S.U. carburetters compared with Stromberg.

Our alloy is going 'great guns' on commercial stuff, I saw a set of bearings last week that had done 100 hours in a big diesel engine, and they looked superlatively good.

If you would like to come over next week and get first-hand information of our most recent negative successes, we shall be delighted to see you.

Yours sincerely,
