I thought of trying front springs with as much as 4" or 4-1/2" deflection to the normal position, to see whether this would not give the Lovejoys a chance to act effectively without other disadvantages. Would you tell me whether the present very stiff front springs on the Phantom are put there principally to stop shimmy or principally to prevent forward lean of the pivots?
