To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} +7430 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/LG7.5.28. STEERING. +8430 With reference to R's latest note on steering. You will see that he wishes the cars fitted with old type front axles to have their steering ratios dropped by altering the lead of the 940 kg worm and nut to 825 instead of carrying on with the present nuts and altering the pendulum lever. Will you therefore please stop the 825 pendulum lever which has been standardised. We are going into the question of the exact lead nut which is the easiest to manufacture with our present equipment and having ascertained this we will send round another standardisation sheet.
