4635 18.3.35. Proposals for Cold Chamber put forward by J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} & E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hall Ltd., Dartford. J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} & E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hall Ltd. have quoted for a plant which consists of a Cold Chamber 24 ft. long x 15 ft. wide x 10 ft. high. This size is large enough to accommodate two 40/50 HP. cars. The proposal is to equip the plant with two methyl chloride refrigerators, absorbing a total of 8 BHP. and capable of maintaining a temperature in the chamber of minus 20°F. {Mr Friese} (Minus 29°C.). It will take 24 hrs. to cool the chamber containing the cars down to this temperature. Halls offer to supply and construct the complete plant for the sum of £1,370.
