To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to EF. ORIGINAL Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG5.9.22. GOSHAWK STEERING. X4264 With reference to your memo. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}5/M1.9.22. We are not in agreement with you, that during the discussion at W.W. it was decided to use front springs which would raise the car .5 of an inch. We agree that this was mentioned but Mr. Royce's final decision was that he did not wish the car to be raised any more in front. He mentioned that the raising of the radiator had made the car look more bulky, and our recollection is that we should use springs similar to those fitted to 6-Goshawk-11 and which have been adopted as standard.
