Design simplifications for mechanical components such as bolt stops and pinion pins.

eliminate the necessity for carefully machining to diam-eter the bolt stops when integral with the box. The stops are now provided by the steel pressed pieces.
The reverse pinionpin has been simplified from Goshawk 11. by the adoption of snugs machined solid with head of same in place of bushes used previously to prevent rotation.
The keying of wheels to the lower shaft is carried out by machining splines on the shaft and broaching the wheels identical with those on the upper shaft, the former being finally clamped by the through bolt.
