TELEPRINTER MESSAGES.
-------------------

We have been asked to use the teleprinter between Derby, Glasgow and Crewe.

The Teleprinter Office will not accept messages over the telephone, not will they communicate messages received over the telephone. In weather such as we have been having lately, we find that it may take as much as two days to get an answer to a query sent over the tele-printer, owing to the way this functions and this nullifies the value of the installation. Obviously any messages telephoned to the teleprinter would be confirmed in writing.

At the moment I am forced to send telegrams if I want results in a reasonable space of time.
