To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.4/JH.9.1.37. We are not very satisfied with the type of steam valve which we have on the continental radiator. We should therefore like to try the modified version shown on Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}291 herewith . Will you please have the necessary pieces detailed and made for the rubber seating scheme as shown, and also for knife edge valves on metallic seatings. This only modifies Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}291 very slightly. Only one valve body will be required to try both schemes. The valve for the rubber mounting scheme should be sent to Messrs. British Goodrich for the rubber to be attached., together with press adaptor shown on Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}292 attached. We should like this modification to try as soon as possible, while we have the radiator etc. on the test bed. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
