Messrs. Amal Ltd.,
Holford Works,
Perry Barr,
BIRMINGHAM, 20.

For the attention of Mr.Soresby.

Dear Sirs,

We believe that you supply the bonnet catch which holds the top plate of the bonnet down to the side plate on the bonnet of some Rover models.

In connection with this fastener we would very much like to try one with a lock incorporated in the handle. We have discussed this lock question with Mr.Soresby, and are returning two sample handles which he left with the writer. We would like to know whether you would fit up a pair of these Rover type fasteners with locks incorporated in the handles, the lock in principle being similar to the samples mentioned above.

We do not wish the handle to project any further from the bonnet than is directly necessary, and think that the actual stationary part of the locking device could be on the inside of the bonnet. Will you please let us have a sketch and any such sample if you can make it up for us.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
