LETCHWORTH, ENGLAND DETROIT PLANT. 7601 CENTRAL AVENUE TELEPHONE GARFIELD 7500 DETROIT, MICH. April 3, 1934 Rolls Royce, Ltd. Derby, England Gentlemen: ATTENTION - Mr. W. Arthur Robotham When you were here some time ago, you requested that we send you engineering data in connection with our type 766, 3/8" pitch chain, for use in your Engineering Department, to reach you about April 1st. Accordingly we are pleased to enclose herewith dimension data for this type of chain and sprockets. We recall that you were mainly interested in using the duplex chain similar to that used by Cadillac and Lincoln on their twelve cylinder engines, on which the Automatic Adjustment is also used. Our bulletin enclosed will give you the dimensions for sprocket diameters, and we wish to call your attention to blue print No. DO-4866, herewith, showing the sprocket face dimension for a 1-1/2" wide chain and guide groove, together with a print No. DO-1967, showing the number six guide groove dimension, which are used in connection with the sprockets. In the Cadillac type of drive the Crankshaft Sprocket, the Camshaft Sprocket, and the Generator Sprocket are all dimensioned in this way; and you will note the sprocket teeth engage in three sections of the duplex chain. | ||
