BURGESS MICRO SWITCH A Compact Line Voltage Switch that will control a 1/2 hp motor at 110 to 460 volts a.{Mr Adams} c. with a button travel of only 1/1000 inch and a 4 oz pressure differential . . . Here is a switch that can be operated by only 4/1000 ounce-inches of energy, yet it is not a toy—it will control 1250 watts at potentials up to 600 volts. The Micro Switch is designed to operate when a total pressure of approximately 14 ounces is applied to the actuating plunger, and to release when the pressure is reduced to approximately 10 ounces. The plunger travel during this operation is only 1/1000 in. The Micro Switch is exceptionally compact and can be mounted in any position. Ordinary vibration will not interfere with its proper operation. The mechanism is completely enclosed in a sturdy, dust-tight Bakelite housing. Its beryllium copper spring is fatigue-resisting and assures long life. The Micro Switch handles large currents at line voltage and has remarkable overload capacity so that the use of intermediate relays is usually avoided.
