3rd July, 1940.

Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. Robotham.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter of the 23rd ultimo, concerning your sample Air-Maze air filter.

Your position is fully appreciated here, and we understand readily that little can be done until the international situation has been cleared up.

Your first paragraph however, we find to be rather disconcerting, because the filters in question were built up specially to fit your 25-h.p. engine unit. This unit was measured up with the assistance of your Mr. Whyman, and the filter was to be suspended from the front end of the silencing unit running along the top of the cylinder head.

However, nothing can be done at the moment, but we should appreciate your going into the matter when you recommence the manufacture of motor cars. In view of the fact that we supply Air-Maze air filters to more than 20 of the most prominent manufacturers of engine and compressor units in the country, we do feel confident that we can give you every satisfaction.

Yours faithfully,
AIR-MAZE (GREAT BRITAIN) LIMITED

F F Medlicott
Sales Manager.

Handwritten Note:
Puy. This was measured up on 25GII when it had a low engine mounting. The later fitting of the high engine mounting now prevents the filter going where it was originally intended to go. Story
