To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}6/E16.11.33 - 2 - the American market going with the least trouble and com-plication and risk to ourselves - by risk I mean having to commit ourselves to material of a type which would not be useable on the RR chassis if the American business comes to an end. C. and I propose to come up to Derby at an early date and I should be glad if you could look into this matter so that we can discuss it at Derby. The following is extract from a letter received from Mr.Inskip - ".........1. The chassis must be left-hand drive and centre control. a.{Mr Adams} It is not essential that they be thoroughly left-handed as in the case of the present P.II chassis. In fact, we believe from a thorough study of your latest synchro-mesh chassis that your engineers can so modify it that you could supply us from your regular factory schedule and more easily take care of any 'peak' demands.".........
