Copy of letter received from:- Messrs. The A.T. Speedometer Co. Ltd., 20, Avonmore Road, West Kensington, LONDON. W.14. Your ref: ROY {Sir Henry Royce} /GEA6/EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Our ref: HOB/W. 14th May 1928. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Sirs, In reply to your esteemed favour of the 11th instant, we are very sorry for this delay, but the difficulties are very great and although we have made considerable strides we are still unable to send you a sample instrument, which on your very complete tests would be found absolutely in no way subject to climatic changes. The large number of new Magnets we have tried out undoubtedly have given better results and we are now getting another Magnet made up embodying the principles of success so far obtained and expect delivery of these samples within a day or two. After which they have again to be tested in the instrument, and we then hope to be in a position to say that they are right and send you the sample instrument. Yours faithfully, For A.T. SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD., (Sgd) H.O. Booth. | ||
