To EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Tnn. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to EY c. to CWB. X3700 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn{Mr Robinson}1/LG5. 7.28. BROKEN ZENITH PETROL FILTER. X3700 With reference to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Tsn12/H29.6.28. The only broken glass bowls we have had experimentally are those due to the upper lip of the bowl being too tight a fit in its seat. We understand that this matter has now been taken up with the makers and they have promised to eradicate the trouble. With reference to the glass being broken at the bottom etc., we feel sure that a great deal of this trouble is due to the fact that testers are not used to handling glass and in consequence gets ill-treated by being dropped etc. We think it would be an advantage if a number of metal bowls were obtained for use on test and the glass were not fitted until [struck through] just before the car was passed off.
